Cash Strapped?

Strapped for cash this year but still want to help others during this holiday season?

There are still many ways you can help people near and far without spending a dime.

  • The easiest way to give back is to volunteer through a local organization.  Don't know where to start?Go to Volunteermatch.com or HandsonNetwork.com for a list of organizations in your area.

  • End of the year, time to clean out your closet.  Donate gently used items to your local shelter.  If you have career clothes check with your local chapter of Dress For Success.

  • Organize a sock or mitten drive through your local school, your church, or your job to donate to a local shelter.  It is getting cold in our neck of the woods.  OR join the Hanes Virtual Sock Drive on the Hanes Facebook page and select "Donate Now” button between Nov. 14 and Dec. 12.  The company will donate a pair of socks to individuals in need up to 250,000 pairs (500,000 individual socks). It costs nothing for you to donate.

  • Like the Kraft Huddle to Fight Hunger Facebook page and play their 2 minute trivia game.  Every point earned in the “2-Minute Trivia Drill” game experience is equivalent to 1 meal donation to Feeding America.

  • Have a buy one get one free coupon?  Buy your item and donate the free one to your local food bank.

What do you do to Give Back during this time of year or throughout the year?

  2. and this post is in essence exactly what you're all about - helping others.

Keep smiling and keep dreaming Jenn and thank you for sharing some awesome 'giving' ideas because some types of giving are often more valuable than store bought gifts

  3. I love these ideas! I want my kids to learn to give back and always look for ways they can help. Mostly we just do little things, but hopefully they add up!
