I am bit of a foodie (and it shows). And Portland is a great place to be one. So many great places. Even with taking the plunge of becoming a vegetarian there are still so many options in this city. From food carts, farmer markets, to the hip restaurant scene, there is never a hungry stomach.
This past weekend we celebrated my birthday, a bit late, since we moved on the weekend of my real birthday. It was worth the wait though. We went to a lovely restaurant not to far from where we live on the Sandy River. My husband had the Seafood Tower while I had the Miso Glazed Salmon.
How delicious do these look? I know you want to lick the screen. Go ahead, I won't tell anyone. Just make sure you wipe it off.

Ohh and did I mention, my friend Jennifer did a brunch on the same day for me and another one of our friends that share a May birthday. Yeah, Saturday was pretty much an all day food fest. And this was no ordinary brunch. She went all out. She made scones, little tea sandwiches (egg salad and cucumber/cream cheese), mini quiches, Strawberry Parfaits...We dined on the finest china. We drank tea (pinky up), coffee, foo foo water (Pelligrino) and Lemonade. I felt like we were having tea with the Queen Mum. All we were missing was the tiaras and the fancy dresses and the jewels and the money.

Oh...I am completely starving! That salmon looks to die for. You would have had to kick me out of that brunch spread -- fit for a Queen indeed. But of course, nothing less should be expected on your special day! Happy Birthday!
