Six Word Saturday
My 6 words for this lovely Saturday was easy to come up with:
A 2nd birthday, lots of packing.
Our house is a disaster zone. I need to put a sign like this on the door:
It looks like a tornado has come through it there and back. Boxes, stuff, books, clothes, you name it, is is strewn about as we prepare for our big move.
You really don't realize how much STUFF you have until you start packing it. We are not packing it all. There is no reason to take it with us if it is just going to stay in a box in the garage. So off to Goodwill it will go. I can see several visits in my near future. That is the number one rule of moving: If it is still in the garage or storage after living somewhere for several years chances are you won't miss it. GET RID OF IT. (Amen?)
We are going to try and get most of our boxes moved over on Sunday. Luckily, we are not moving that far (yet). It is about a mile from where we live now but you would think it was hundred of miles away since it seems as if it is way out in the country based on the surrounding landscape. I can't wait to show you pictures of it.
And today is Kaylyn's 2nd birthday! I can't believe it has already been 2 years since we welcomed this sweet baby girl into our lives. She has been such a blessing to our family. And in honor of her big day we are throwing a birthday party into the chaos! Luckily we are having a very low key late afternoon get together with family only and simple appetizers. This momma is to darn worn out to do anything overly extravagant this year. Sorry. She wouldn't remember it anyways, right?
What is on your agenda?
Hope you all have a blessed, relaxing Saturday (I envy you; relax is not in my vocabulary anytime soon).

Happy birthday to your little one! Good luck with the move! I actually think a close move like that is harder than a 1000 mile or more move (done both several times, LOL). Yep, I agree if you haven't used something in a few years and its still in a box, time to not move it again!

Well try and enjoy yourself too! I think that sign would come in handy for a lot of us! Ha, ha!
ReplyDeleteHang on - what? I've obviously missed a critical post or two here. Where, when, why, what?
ReplyDeleteArrggghhh, now I'll have to read back and see what I've missed. While I figure out where you're moving and why let me say good luck with it all.
...oh and Happy Birthday to the little lady of the day. Hope she has a great day and that you get a chance to put your feet up momentarily
ReplyDeleteIt's Monday now, so I'm hoping the move has been going really well over the weekend!
