Confessions. I love these posts. Helps keep me in check and proves even more so that I Am Not Superwoman. And I can't do it all and be all to everyone at all times. And that is quite alright!
1. The Thanksgiving dinner dishes, just barely got washed TODAY.
2. I did not get up at the butt crack of dawn and do the *normal* Black Friday shopping. This is 3rd year in a row that I did not partake in this. My sleep is to valuable not to mention too much chaos to save a few bucks.
3. I just realized I have not changed my oil for well over the 3000 miles. Yikes. Is that really necessary for *newer* cars? Maybe that is why my gas mileage sucks these days?
4. Wednesday night. I didn't make dinner. We ate snacks and whatever else there was that was easy and handy. Kids ate a yogurt, banana, some wheat thins...I think I ate a bowl of cereal. Honestly, I don't even remember.
5. Thanksgiving night both Kaylyn and I went to bed at 730. We were T.I.R.E.D.
Did you have a nice holiday weekend? Have any confessions you want to share? You know we like to keep it real round these parts.
Hey, I posted some new pictures on The Other Non Superheros page. Make sure to check them out. The kids are growing like weeds!
Love the pics - you have very attractive 'weeds'. My boys are all now taller than me, oldest has taken to calling me shorty - they all grow so quickly.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a 7.30 bedtime was much needed, hope things are quietening down for you. If the kids are getting fed then that's all that matters - after all who says you can't eat that stuff for dinner :-)
Tyler is taller than me at this point by a couple inches. Yes, 730 bedtime much needed. Wish I could do that more often. Hope you are doing well. How is work these days?
DeleteI actually HAVE had a nice holiday weekend. I spent all Wednesday, Thursday morning, and most of Friday putting together a science unit for my team at work. We teach 6th grade. I complained about it because it was a LOT of work without any help from my team. My confession: I LOVE the unit I wrote, and I am VERY pleased with it. I'm happy that everything I'm going to teach in science from now until Christmas are lessons I'm excited about.
ReplyDeleteNo Thanksgiving confessions here, other than I LOVED that my dad wanted to do all the cooking.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Glad you had a nice holiday and sounds like you got ahead of the game a little bit with your school units. Awesome! Nice, so you didn't even have to cook. One day soon, maybe next year...we will just go out. I like to cook but sometimes it does get to be a bit overwhelming. Have a great rest of the weekend and start to the new week!
DeleteLove the new pictures! Who took those?
ReplyDeleteMy confession is that I intended for the girls to do math every day (a little bit) over the holiday, but I didn't have it in me to follow through. Friday morning I spent 2-3 hours doing a puzzle. I never do things like that and it was so much fun to be unproductive and lazy. It was even more fun to have Kayleigh right there helping me.
Heather G from church took them and really reasonably priced. I was pleased. I can't tell you the last time we did a puzzle. It is definetly nice to just hang out and be lazy now and again. I am not sure Hayden would sit and focus for that long. We will play some games with him but that only lasts so long and since Kay is still a little too young to play often times it is only one of us playing game and then the other entertaining Kay.
