He Bangs, He Bangs

A portion of this is actually a repost of a post I did back on November 9, 2010.

No, not Ricky Martin or William Hung...our tornado of a little boy, Hayden...He bangs on anything and everything in site these days...The kitchen table, the coffee table, pots and pans...  I even caught him with our canisters in the kitchen.  Anything that he can get his hands on that makes noise...he bangs!  Our poor kitchen table...you can definitely tell where Hayden sits because it has little marks from him banging his spoon or fork or whatever he has in his hands at the time.

Maybe I should get him a drum set...OR maybe not.

Fast forward to today....

His birthday is Saturday and for his birthday we bought him some drums.  Not real drums per se but enough of a drum that hopefully it will be music to my ears rather than the horrible banging on bowls or cups or whatever else he can find at the moment.  I literally hear the banging in my head late at night when the house is quiet and everyone is sleeping but me.  It's like one of those hooks in a song that you just can't shake.

We bought him some Paper Jamz Toy Drums like these (just not pink):

WowWee Paper Jamz Drum Set - Style 3@ Amazon.com

I am actually looking forward to hopefully the rat-a-tat-tat or ba-dum-bum on the drums rather than the clank-clank-clank on my bowls.

Who knows this could be the beginning of a life long druming career?  Maybe he will be in the drumline in high school?  (That would actually be really cool, love the drumline in bands and the movie Drumline was a really good movie).

Confessions of A Non Superwoman #7

And here we are yet again...

Why I am not a superwoman (as if you didn't already have enough proof of this based on my past confessions).

1.  Hayden decided to make his own breakfast this past Saturday morning.  A Hot Pocket.  Apparently, I was lallygagging too much and he was hungry so he decided to make his own.  Hot Pocket, nice.  I guess it could have been worse?

2.  Because I am just *uber* organized lately (Ha!), I forgot to leave clothes out for the two small children the other day, daddy has morning duties...and when I picked up the kids, Kaylyn was wearing this:

You might be wondering, what's the problem?  It matches, it's cute, etc but the *shorts* they are not really *shorts*.  They are actually size 3 months pants!  LOL!

3.  This is what happens when moms cooking dinner and not paying close attention to 3 year old.

He finds a screw driver that daddy left out and pokes holes in our hot tub cover.  Nice!  Again, I guess it could have been worse?

4.  Last night I got out of the shower and realized that I hadn't rinsed the conditioner out of my hair.

5.  While cooking dinner last night, I couldn't find one of my favorite skillets.  After looking high and low for several minutes, I found it in our extra refrigerator with some spaghetti sauce still in it.  I don't recall making spaghetti recently (I am going to have to check my MPM posts) so who knows how long it has been in there.  Ick!

Do you have any confessions you want to share?  Don't be shy!

And yes those are "keg" planters and that is a "pipe" garden.  McMenamins is a little "odd" like that but we like "odd" in this neck of the woods.  They even have a Jerry Garcia Sculpture on one of the trails around the golf course.

Keep Portland Weird.

And their hummus and pita plate (w/feta my favorite) is to die for.  And we can't forget their burgers and sweet potato fries!  Totally hit the spot!  (Don't those pictures make you hungry?)
