Weigh In Wednesday FAIL!

Yes, I know it is Friday which is why I titled this post Weigh In Wednesday FAIL.

I failed to weigh in yet again this week.  Yup.  I haven't even gone to the gym this week, yet again.

My new hours have not been very conducive to heading to the gym after work.

By the time I pick up kids, get home, spend some time with them, cook dinner, clean up, spend some more time with them, bathes, some quiet reading time with the kids and then bed....yeah, not a whole lot of "go to the gym time" in there.

And since the gym is where I have been weighing in.  I don't own a scale at home.  You get the picture.  Thus no weigh in.  I need to buy a scale and just start working out at home.  That is a novel idea.  I think I will buy one, a scale but not sure I will get motivated to work out at home.  I guess I could.  Technically.  But see above paragraph about early evening/night routine.  Not sure where to fit it in.

I did, however, get the office gym paperwork for access this past week.  Yes, there is paperwork about proper use of the equipment and a liability waiver.  So I could sign that and then start working out at the gym in our office on my lunch.  I think that might be my better alternative because once I get home just too many other things to do.

So there it is.  Another fail.  Not proud.  I really want to stay on track and hope that by not working out, I have not regained what I have lost.  I am going to try my darndest to get to the gym this weekend but it is shaping up to be a jam packed weekend with lots of other activities.
Starting off tonight with the Rock & Worship Roadshow.  I am so excited.  We go every year and it is such a blast!  Have you ever been?

But I know I just have to make going to the gym a priority this weekend and fit it in.  I don't feel like I have gained anything.  My clothes are still fitting as loose as they have been some even more so.  Like that Compassion shirt in my update photos.  I think I need to take another one and show you.

Since we are on fails, I haven't been to many of my favorite blogs that I typically read and comment on this week either.  You know who you all are (see side bar for some of my favorite people/blogs).  Hope you all are doing well.  I hope to get over to visit soon.

It is supposed to hover around 60 today so not to cold for standing in line for the concert and it is Friday so...be blessed and have a GREAT day!

Weigh In Wednesday 2/13

Weigh In Wednesday.

Oh.How.I.Will.Eventually.Dread.You.

But not yet.

Things are still peachy.

So I am happy.

I am down another couple pounds with this last weigh in on Sat morning.  Which is kinda funny because I went to the gym, every intention of working out and then my 14 year old had a *crisis* so I didn't even make it out of the locker room, but I made sure I at least got to weigh myself.

Total weight loss so far is 16.8 lbs in 45 days/approx 6 weeks.  Therefore if I am doing the math right I am losing about 2 1/2 lbs on average per week.  I am hoping and praying I can keep this up but of course I am preparing for that ugly word we all probably hit eventually: PLATEAU

I started my new job this week so I have not made it to the gym AT ALL this week.  I am ok though because I am walking a lot more at my new job being that the building is so big.  Just to go to the bathroom, it is a maze through the floor that I am on...and then I have been to/fro to our lovely Reception lady with questions, supply orders, etc.  She is one floor up so up and down the stairs I go.  Often.  I am confident I am burning more calories at this job than I ever did at my old one.  AND I am eating better overall, brown bagging my lunch pretty much everyday (which is also helping my pocket book too).

:::For breakfast, I had 2 hard boiled eggs and a banana.

:::For lunch, I had Grilled Chicken Slices, an Apple & Cheese Chunks.

:::For afternoon snack, I had a sliced up tomato and some cheese its.

:::For dinner, two slices of pizza.

Not too shabby.

Ohh and if/when I decide I want or need a little bit of help, which may come when I start getting discouraged....There is a Weight Watchers Group at work.  Several ladies within the company are part of the group so they actually have a leader that comes into the office for the weekly meeting, weigh ins, etc.  How cool is that?

So there you have it.  My week.  Short and sweet.

How has your week been going?  Any struggles?  Milestones?  Just remember every step is a victory!

Weigh In Wednesday 2/6

Well, well, well...it is Wednesday and time for the "dreaded" WIW post.

How'd I do after last week? Remember, I didn't really do a WIW post instead I talked about another major life change.  I am all about change these days (apparently).

I am glad you are here and glad you asked.  You asked, right?

I lost a couple ounces, down just shy of 15 lbs (see my ticker on the sidebar).  I am just thankful I didn't gain.  I thought for sure I would have gained but since I was not going to the gym, I was very conscious to what I was putting in my belly so not to overindulge too much.

I honestly didn't do that bad for only hitting the gym once last week. Yes, I only went once. It is disappointing but it was another not so good week. I am back on it this week though. Hitting it hard. And then not sure how it is all going to play out once I start my new job on Feb 11. They have a gym in the building that I could use and I might walk on the treadmill on my lunch for 20 minutes each day however I only have an hour lunch and have to eat lunch too so AND not so sure if I want to come back to my cube smelling all sweaty. I am sure my cube mates would just adore me then.   I am also on the 14th floor so I thought maybe just maybe I would get off on the 12th floor and walk the rest and slowly work my way down and then up the stairs as the days pass.  Not sure I will ever walk 14 floors, but never say ever, right?

I wanted to post a picture of my starting point and a recent one I took and was supposed to post last week, but my phone was giving me grief.  I know you might not notice a huge difference, but I can feel it.  That shirt is a bit more loose (can you tell just a little bit?).  Any my pants no longer as snug as a bug in a rug. I'm slowly getting there.  I know I dropped a size because I am fitting into some shirts that I haven't worn in a while.  It feels good.

How was your week?  Did you lose?  Gain?  What has worked for you?

We Interrupt My Normal Blog Post...

With something "possibly" as life changing as weight loss.  Of course it is Wednesday and I was supposed to have a Weigh In Wednesday post but let me just say this week has been by NO MEANS an ordinary week in my life.

I QUIT my job on Monday.  A job that I have held with the same company for 17 years.  17 years!  Now grant it I have a new job, not like I just up'd and left without another place to land HOWEVER it was still no easy task.  I have been given an opportunity that was just to good to pass up so I took the plunge, accepted the position and start at my new position on Feb 11th.

I am EXCITED.  I am NERVOUS. I am ANXIOUS. a bundle of nerves, especially as I anticipated putting in my notice over this past weekend.  So many things have been going through my mind the last couple days, like the "what ifs."

:::What if this wasn't the right decision?

:::What if the company that I go to work for is more unstable or cattywhompass than the company I am leaving?

:::What if the company I am going to work for is sold to another big conglomerate (there has been lots of mergers in my industry) and I don't get "sold" with it?

Ohh my goodness my head has been spinning.

There is something to be said for knowing the ropes, heck, designing the ropes since I came into the company when is was only a few years old and being at the top...and now, to start all over again, after 17 years at a new company.  It is nice that I won't necessarily be low man on totem pole because I am going in at a much higher level than entry level and there is lots of room for growth but still I am the "new girl".  Did I mention 17 years?  I have not been the "new girl" for 17 years!

I still have a hard time a couple days into it; I don't think it has "fully" hit me yet.   As I am cleaning out my office, transitioning my clients to another Account Manager, etc....bittersweet. Some of my clients I have had for years! I have built relationships with them.  Many of the client contacts I consider "friends".  They trust me with their business, I trust them to continue to pay the contract and to be honest with me if things slip up.  They have been through a lot with me and I with them.  Wow.  When I say it like that, I get a lump in my throat.  And as I wind down this week, Friday being my last day even though I did give the customary two week notice, the owner said if I could button everything up sooner than she would let me leave early with pay.  I think how can I possibly button up 17 years in 4 days.  But I am trudging along.   I am doing the best I can but I know something is going to be missed.  But what do you do.  As of Friday, these clients will no longer be mine.  They will be someone elses'.  I have to let go, move on, change.

Change to the "new girl".  I can reinvent myself (not that I think I need to but...) start fresh.  A new beginning.  New beginings are good, right?  Change is good even when it is HARD.  I know this.

To close, when sending my notification out to all my client contacts, I received so many well wishes, we are going to miss you responses, thanks for doing a good job for all these years, that tears welled in my eyes...BUT, there is one response that I will forever hold dear, it was actually from a client contact for a NEW client that only signed on with our company in November...The contact and I, hit if off pretty quick, there was just something about her and she knew there was something about me.  She emailed me and told me that she printed out my"tag line" on my email which is:

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29

She said she taped it on her computer to remind her everyday and that it really gave her encouragement in an unencouraging world.  I cried.  Who knew something so simple as that, something I sometimes even removed from my emails so not to offend some, would have such an impact on someone. GOD knew.  That is who. And through that tag line, I was able to be a light to someone when they needed it.  Ahhhmazing.  GOD is good and works in mysterious ways.

And....

On another note, I can't get my phone to load pictures to show you a recent This is Me picture but since this really isn't a Weigh In Wednesday post I guess it doesn't matter.  And since my life has been a bit chaotic the last couple days, I have not been to the club since Saturday.  When I weighed in, I had gained a pound back from the previous week.  Ugh!

By the way, I have next week off.  I am going to spend some extra time with the kids, go to the club everyday, going to relax, get reorganized, and reenergized before I tackle the next chapter.

How was your week?  Do anything exciting?

Weigh In Wednesday 1/23

I'm a bit discouraged.  There I said it.  I only made it to the gym 2 times so far this week and tomorrow doesn't look like it will be condusive to it...Ughhh.

I had been *starting* my week from Wednesday to Wednesday because of the WIW posts however I have revamped it and now my week is Saturday to Saturday.  I found that I felt I was sabotaging myself a little bit by rushing from work to the gym on Wednesdays to work out and weigh in to get this post up while it is was still technically Wednesday.  It just wasn't working on every front.  So although I am still posting them as Weigh In Wednesdays I am actually weighing myself on Saturday mornings...which I heard that morning weight is the most accurate anyways....Right?  (And Saturday is the only day I can go to the gym in the morning).

I am obviously not losing nearly as much weight as I did the first two weeks or so by any means which is also a bit discouraging but I am soldiering on.  I got to get this weight off one way or another but by doing it the right way.  It is H-A-R-D!  I am sure anyone who has tried to lose weight, feels my pain.  I sometimes wish there was a magic pill because I am a self professed foodie at heart and love, love, love to cook and go out to wonderful restaurants, etc and because sometimes I just want to be lazy and not do anything.  And I know I can still do all that but while I am going through this, whole really trying my darndest to lose weight, I feel a little bit off because I feel like if I do those things, cook awesome meals for my family, go out to dinner with friends, etc...then again, I feel like I am sabotaging myself because I lack this little thing called willpower sometimes most of the time.  Difficult, so difficult I tell you.

On a *lighter* note (ha! pun intended) I am going to take a picture next week to post wearing the same workout shirt that I took my picture in the first time.  It is feeling a bit loose now so I know even though the pounds are not necessarily dropping like its hot, I am losing some inches and bloatedness.  Hopefully you will be able to tell.

Ok, so without further ado...Saturday when I weighed myself, in the morning, before my work out....I weighed 265.8 which makes my total weight loss at 13.8 pounds!  Still have a loooong, loooong journey but....taking it day by day.

Oh and remember the food diary that I was going to start, yeah didnt' happen.  Nice thought, bought the book, didn't write anything down.  Yup, another thing to work on.  Carry on.

How was your week?  What worked for you?  Didn't work?

Weigh In Wednesday 1/16

Well here we are again…Wednesday, the day I will probably dread when I hit a plateau…but for now I am loving it!

I am feeling better with each passing day. I am feeling lighter and have a nice little spring back in my step.

My working out is now becoming a habit, second nature.  I did however fall down a little bit these past couple days because LIFE.INTERRUPTED and I didn't get to the club until today.  (My goal is 3-4 times a week for at least an hour).

With that being said I prepared myself for the worse when I stepped on the scale BUT....

It wasn't so bad afterall, thankfully.  I weighed myself on Saturday and I am still the same, haven't gained any from then or lost any.  I am now at 12.6 lbs lost. I figure slow and steady wins the race, right?  I didn't put this weight on over night and I can not lose it overnight.

I am still drinking lots and lots of water and  have decided I am going to start writing a food journal.  I did this several years ago when I lost 60lbs through Weight Watchers.  I have also decided to eat more green salads at lunch and dinner to "fill me up".  This was another habit WW taught me way back when and helped me.  It may not help everyone but it helped me.

I am down a size so this evening I did some retail therapy and bought myself 3 (new to me) shirts.

Which reminds me, I have a new little venture I am working on as a result of my current and ongoing weight loss.  I figured I am not going to have the money nor will I want to buy a new wardrobe every time I lose a few pounds, drop a size, so I am in the early stages of creating a community clothing swap for women.  This is not a new concept by any means but something that I have seen only a handful of times around our area and mostly for childrens clothing.  It will be for women of all shapes and sizes and will not only be geared to those that have lost weight but for those that have gained weight as well.  Everyone is welcome.

I have started a website for it and am slowly working towards getting it off the ground.  My goal is to have the first swap the first part of March 2013.

Evolving Closet Clothing Swap: Let your clothes EVOLVE with you.

As soon as I have the website up and running I will put a link on my blog.  I hope you will check it out.

I am excited for both my ongoing weight loss and this new venture.

How did you do this week?
